Balas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Title of Talk: <\/strong><\/span>Advanced Methodologies for Modeling and Simulation of Roof-Top Greenhouses<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Abstract of Talk<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The presentation describes the concept and the mathematical model of an intelligent greenhouse and proposed the concept of a green building. This new approach is designed to replace the roofs with intelligent rooftop greenhouses. They are connected with the interior of the building in order to improve the building\u2019s metabolism. This way it is possible to organize integrated management for energy, water, and gases. The control will be done in a smart manner. Such buildings with low carbon footprint will help develop the future Smart Cities.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Biography of the Speaker<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Valentina E. Balas is currently a Full Professor in the Department of Automatics and Applied Software at the Faculty of Engineering, \u201cAurel Vlaicu\u201d University of Arad, Romania.<\/p>\n<p>She holds a Ph.D. Cum Laude, in Applied Electronics and Telecommunications from the Polytechnic University of Timisoara. Dr. Balas is the author of more than 400 research papers in refereed journals and International Conferences. Her research interests are in Intelligent Systems, Fuzzy Control, Soft Computing, Smart Sensors, Information Fusion, Modeling, and Simulation.<\/p>\n<p>She is the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Advanced Intelligence Paradigms (IJAIP) and the International Journal of Computational Systems Engineering (IJCSysE), a member of the Editorial Board of several national and international journals, and is an evaluator expert for national, international projects and Ph.D. Thesis.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Balas is the director of the Intelligent Systems Research Centre at the Aurel Vlaicu University of Arad and the Director of the Department of International Relations, Programs, and Projects at the same university.<\/p>\n<p>She served as General Chair of the International Workshop Soft Computing and Applications (SOFA) in nine editions organized in the interval 2005 to 2020 and held in Romania and Hungary.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Balas participated in many international conferences as an Organizer, Honorary Chair, Session Chair, member of Steering, Advisory or International Program Committees, and Keynote Speaker.<\/p>\n<p>Recently she was working on a national project with EU funding support: BioCell-NanoART = Novel Bio-inspired Cellular Nano-Architectures &#8211; For Digital Integrated Circuits, 3M Euro from National Authority for Scientific Research and Innovation.<\/p>\n<p>She is a member of the European Society for Fuzzy Logic and Technology (EUSFLAT), a member of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM), a Senior Member IEEE, a member of the Technical Committee \u2013 Fuzzy Systems (IEEE Computational Intelligence Society), chair of the Task Force 14 in Technical Committee \u2013 Emergent Technologies (IEEE CIS), a member in Technical Committee \u2013 Soft Computing (IEEE SMCS).<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Balas was past Vice-president (responsible with Awards) of IFSA &#8211; International Fuzzy Systems Association Council (2013-2015), is a Joint Secretary of the Governing Council of Forum for Interdisciplinary Mathematics (FIM), &#8211; A Multidisciplinary Academic Body, India, and recipient of the &#8220;Tudor Tanasescu&#8221; Prize from the Romanian Academy for contributions in the field of soft computing methods (2019).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Title of Talk: Advanced Methodologies for Modeling and Simulation of Roof-Top Greenhouses Abstract of Talk The presentation describes the concept and the mathematical model of an intelligent greenhouse and proposed [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-551","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v23.3 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Prof. Valentina E.
